Monmouth Park & Press Communications, LLC

Monmouth Park has been a Jersey Shore racing tradition since 1870. This summer Press Communications, LLC partnered with Monmouth Park to increase market awareness for both Monmouth & Ocean County locals and visitors to the shore during the prime summer tourist season.

In addition to being a prime thoroughbred horse racing venue, Monmouth Park is very family friendly and strives to draw crowds to the track through festivals and events. The challenge was to provide continuous exposure throughout the 2016 season in order to promote special events and to appeal to a diverse demo of ages and lifestyles. Monmouth Park competes for visitors in this densely saturated region all year, particularly in the summer with beaches, amusement parks and other tourist attractions.

Press Communications, LLC developed an integrated marketing plan in tandem with Brian Skirka, Monmouth Park Marketing Manager, and the agency of record, Marketing Inspirations, LLC. The plan included traditional spot buys along with mobile marketing, email blasts, customized on-line activity and listener on-site interaction and prizing.

Press Communications, LLC was able to generate excitement and build traffic for six festivals over the summer! This was accomplished by utilizing Press’ six optimum radio signals, which cover the majority of the primary traffic corridors to the Shore Region as well as NYC and Philadelphia.

This summer Monmouth Park hosted a Food Truck Festival, Wine & Chocolate Weekend, Surf & Turf Festival, BBQ & Beer Weekend and a new event for 2016, Latin Fiesta.

Press’ production department conducted interviews with food truck vendors for each festival and these interviews aired the week leading up to each event. The food truck vendors supplied samples for the on-air teams who added unscripted live banter to help generate excitement. In addition, the “grand prize” for texting contests was one lucky listener became a “guest judge” along with on-air personalities from each station who were on site with our promotions team. The winners received bragging rights, delicious food samples and a trophy!

The schedules run through Labor Day weekend with the Beer & BBQ weekend in September, complete with live country music entertainment, presented by Thunder 106.3 FM and 106.5FM.
