On September 20th and 21st Univision Radio NY brought back their annual Familia y Hogar Expo at the NY Hilton Midtown Hotel. The annual Expo targeting New York Hispanic families offers resources and expert advice to improve attendees' lifestyles, with two full days of entertainment the entire family can enjoy. The event includes product sampling booths and seminars by well-known speakers and celebrities from a variety of fields, including fitness, education and family life.
The 2014 Expo was filled with amazing giveaways and appearances by on-air personalities from Univision New York's Radio Stations and TV affiliates. There were appearances by popular Univision on-air personalities such as Lilie Estefan and Raul De Molina from “El Gordo y La Flaca,” Merijoel Duran co-anchor of “Noticias Univision 41 Al Despertar,” TV and radio personality Enrique Santos, Ino Gomez and Dr. Mejia from WADO’s “Buen Dia New York,” Coco Cabrera of El Palo Con Coco, DJ Bacan and Joel Santiago of X96.3 and many more. Local and celebrity chefs, including Chef Elsie Ramos and Goya’s Executive Chef, Fernando Desa, stopped by to share their secrets in a full scale kitchen while audience members observed and interacted. The Kiddie Corner included many premiums, games, and a special visit by Dora the Explorer.
After years of success, the Familia Y Hogar Expo continues to grow, expanding across the country to more markets than ever. New York’s event brought an unprecedented crowd of over 15,000 guests. Sponsors, such as Sabra, were able to maximize on their ROI from the Familia y Hogar Expo.
Due to the success of the 2013 Familia Y Hogar, Sabra expanded their presence in this event to 4 -10 markets in 2014. Sabra gave away a total of 8,000 demos during the two day event in New York. The client was so impressed with the interest in their product during previous year that they brought more than double the amount of samples for 2014. With their overall success and continued growth, Sabra is solely using Univision as their source regarding all matters for the Hispanic market and is now looking to expand their reach by including Univision TV in 2015.

This event combined the power of branding on radio with experiential elements for our clients that included sampling and lead generation. Some of the participants were able to coordinate their branding/outreach efforts with our TV affiliates of Univision NY. This event is great for businesses to reach and connect to the growing Hispanic community.
